Great effort is needed to end the unmanageable desire for food. Considering that, develop your battling skills to overcome compulsive actions. This fight is for freedom; deny failure. You can feel fervent emotions and choose not to give in. Order yourself, "I refuse to stop. I will not budge. I refuse to fail.” During the emotional windstorms caused by enticement, question yourself, what are my goals? Eating to unwind is not what you desire. What you really desire is to be serene. You do not want to eat because of anger. What you want is to address the problem. Eating to relieve fear is not what you want. What you really want is the strength to address it. Eating because of boredom is not what you want What you desire is, a goal that will create real action within you. Avoid fighting with obsessive thoughts, but deflect them into empowering thoughts and rewarding activities. Use mini-breaks to change your mood and put a halt to obsessive thinking. Find a little time to do something you enjoy until the emotions ebb. Sing a song, get some exercise, take a brisk walk, or take up yoga. Not only will you be overcoming obsessive thoughts, but upgrading your life. Do not give in to an urge; every time you do, the pleasure will create an urge to do it again. Reaffirm to yourself that junk food is artificial pleasure. If you do not nurture a craving, it will stop. If you become anxious, inhale slowly and deeply, hold it for a moment, and exhale, think serene. Imagine the feeling of distaste until you are sickened: finger nails scratching a blackboard, or hair in your soup, Picture an image that suits you. Use negative association. Chips are flavored pieces of unhealthy oils and fats. Create your own negative labels for the foods you are attempting to avoid. Use this mental routine to the end; look at the whole picture. Don’t focus solely on the pleasure, but rather be conscious of all the adverse effects. When you discipline yourself, you feel that something was denied, and feel deprived. Battle that emotion with the truth that you are content and happy. Challenge the emotion of loss. Always remember the bad qualities of junk food. Do not eat them. Avoid triggers like donut stores and bakeries. Reduce your time in the kitchen or at the dinner table when you start to feel tempted. Schedule when to eat your meals. Take fruits or vegetables for snacks. The toughest days are the first few. If you are out of it and feel weak, it will be hard to focus your mind. Managing direction requires work, and toxic feelings lead to an reckless self-destructive feeling. It will pass once the blood clears of toxins Do the best you can through out these times to be firm.
